This devotional invites you to explore how His gentle nearness and restoring power becomes the very source of your strength and greatness.

Opening Reflection
When we read Psalm 18:35 it contains a humble statement:and your right hand supported me,
and your gentleness made me great.
Ps 18:34-35
This is the God who bends low to touch, who stoops to lift, who strengthens the faint, who meets weakness with gentleness and compassion — rather than condemnation. His greatness is not diminished by His tenderness; it is revealed through it.
Scriptural Focus
The shield of your salvation
Let us not forget that the foundations of our faith begin with Abraham’s calling, which is the first manifestation of God’s faithfulness. This is what we read in Genesis 15:1
“Fear not, Abram, I am your shield;
your reward shall be very great.”
Gen 15:1
The calling comes with the revelation of God's goodness, faithfulness and awesome glory.
your reward shall be very great.”
Gen 15:1
“You have given me the shield of your salvation,
and your right hand supported me,
Your gentleness makes me great.”
Psalm 18:35
Parallel:
and your right hand supported me,
Your gentleness makes me great.”
Psalm 18:35
“You have given me the shield of your salvation,
and your gentleness made me great.”
in the record of 2 Samuel 22:36

God Stoops to Help
When God stoops down to humanity, this immediately evokes powerful emotions among different groups. For those whom He touches—indeed, those whom He serves—it creates a life-changing encounter. For those who cling desperately to their religious image of God, it almost always stirs up furious, determined anger.Fundamentally, here the heavenly state and the peace and humility rooted within it clash with the passions whipped up by sin: human pride and anger.
This will not change until the return of Christ.
- Psalm 113:5.7 — Who is like the LORD our God, Who is seated on high..
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap...
- Philippians 2:6–7 — though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant..
God’s Gentle Compassion - righteousness
One of the most shocking property of the Godhead - which deeply touched my life and faith - is the fact that He, the Great and Mighty God has sent His only son for the reconciliation and for the deepest community with the humankind. The first part is a common topic and focus in Christian communities. but The second part of the good news is less interesting for many. The misunderstanding of Jesus closeness and the Pentecost is not the only issue here; it's also the misunderstanding of the Fathers' humility: He is able to judge the entire universe with absolute righteousness. Yet He chooses a different path by granting His Son full authority and the rank of the Judge - after He faithfully completed the terrible work of redemption and identified Himself with humanity’s sins and daily life. He is the immaculate perfect unbiased well informed judge! Here's the progress of the Christ :
After 33 diligent years, Jesus begins to lead people into the Kingdom of God, and after His death and resurrection, He would ascend..., takes His seat...
„...sedet ad dexteram Patris omnipotentis,
inde venturus est iudicare vivos et mortuos.”
at the right hand of God the Father almighty.. ”
(in the apostolic Creed, has been used since the 8th century) It is precisely here that we see the fulfillment of the promises of Scripture. Jesus is not merely sentimental or socially sensitive; he is the only one who fully fulfills the role of the Messiah. He is totally unbiased. He clearly sees our weaknesses and understands them from personal experience. He knows exactly how to lead people out of and free them from the bonds of the past: - Psalm 103:13–14 — He remembers we are dust.
- Isaiah 42:3 — A bruised reed He will not break.
- Hosea 11:3–4 — He leads with cords of kindness.
“Who is worthy to open the book?” — and no creature in heaven, earth, or under the earth is found worthy.”
where no one means : no one. Then John weeps — until an elder announces:
“Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book.”
When John looks, he sees not a lion but a Lamb standing as though slain — Christ in His sacrificial identity.
This is the fulfillment of God's stooping and ultimate compassion.
God Strengthens the Weak
From death and meaknes something great was emerging.. - 2 Corinthians 12:9 — His power is made perfect in weakness.- Isaiah 40:29 — He gives power to the faint.
- Psalm 73:26 — God is the strength of my heart.
God Lifts and Upholds
- Psalm 3:3 — He lifts my head.- Psalm 145:14 — He upholds all who fall.
- Isaiah 41:10 — He upholds with His righteous right hand.
Devotional Meditation
God’s gentleness is not weakness—it is strength restrained for the sake of love.It stems from His understanding and compassion.
He knows us
He knows our limits. He remembers our frailty. He meets us where we are, not where we pretend to be.When we are broken, He does not crush.
When we are ashamed, He covers us with compassion.
When we are faint, He strengthens.
When we are bowed down, He lifts.
His greatness & Glory
This is the Heavenly kingdom - model: Greatness in God’s kingdom is not achieved through striving, performance, or perfection. It is received through surrender— through allowing God to stoop down, redeem, restore and lift us. Then His glory will be visible through His chosen redeemed.
His personal transforming touch
The One who holds the universe also holds your heart. And He holds it gently. He surrounds us with His compassionate character that we may be more and more sensitive.
He surrounds us with His strengthening power that we may be more confident in his gravity and connected to his strength.
He surrounds us with His integrity and we share this new life with others. His touch transforms us that we may be a firm point of the society
