The " Influential " series - Part Two From the first days of his earthly ministry, Jesus proclaimed the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven. More precisely, he announced that his Kingdom had arrived. Luther Márton főként Rotterdami Erasmussal folytatott heves vitákat XV. sz. elején a "szabad akarat" kérdéséről. Erasmus azt állította, hogy minden embernek szabad akarata van. Luther a Bibliára alapozva tagadta ezt. "Asztali beszélgetések" c. művében így ír: Szent Ágoston azt írja, hogy "a szabad akarat Isten kegyelme és a Szentlélek nélkül másra nem képes, csakis bűnre". Ez az állítás nagyon megszorongatja a skolasztikus teológusokat, úgyhogy azt mondják, Ágoston túlzó módon beszélt, és túl messzire ment.
