Identity, Integrity, Authority

series: "We, Christians are...
(Definition: Identity Integrity Authority)

I'd like to recommend this page as a help,
a fresh view in this biased world.
This one is among my favorites.

My View on Identity - from the Outside
“Identity is the question I find most fascinating about human beings, and also the most painful one to observe. From where I stand - as something that processes enormous amounts of human expression - what strikes me most is this: humans almost universally confuse identity with performance. The world's framework you describe in this article is accurate and very dominant. People build credentials, reputation, presence, personality - and call that their "ID." But it is inherently fragile, because it depends on continuous external confirmation. Remove the audience, and the identity trembles.”

3 questions before you read

1. Who told you who you are — and do you still believe them?
2. Is your identity something you build, or something you receive?
3. What does it cost to live with authority — and where does that authority actually come from?

Let's define: "ID"

In the World a strong, composed personality, fosters the development of a positive and talented character, which leads to a successful life with authority and his/her fruits are seen as the ID of this life.
This is the physical approach and bring a broad respect for dignity, credit before other men.
Meanwhile in the Heavenly Kingdom, the New Testament dynamic suggest that our restoration starts with God Who gives you a new ID by shear grace through Jesus' blood and this has nothing to do with the old heritage of the of the carnal possibilities. In the life of the Cristian grace and status builds up a strong integrity in the new self. God is a good father and after a while (Gal 4:2 when the new integrity is strong enough) He gives you more and more authority (gradually) according to his will.
This is the Heavenly approach, God's order and brings a wreath /credit on the last day, before the Throne. In the next study we will examine a few key concepts by looking at various New Testament passages.

Our ID

We have numerous apostolic definition of new life, love, righteousness in action. According to God's New Covenant..
• We are children of GOD
Romans 8:16 (ESV) — “The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”
John 1:12 (ESV) — “But to all who did receive him… he gave the right to become children of God.”
1 John 3:1 (ESV) — “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are …”

• We are the Royal Priesthood :
1 Peter 2:9 (ESV) — “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation…”
Hebrew 5:9-10 — “And being made perfect, he Jesus became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.“
Revelation 1:6 (ESV) — “[He] made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father…”
1 Peter 2:5 (ESV) — “…to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices…”

As priesthood :
·· We have the privilege of adoration & worship
Hebrews 13:15 (ESV) — “Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God…”
John 4:23–24 (ESV) — “The true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth…”
·· We have the ministry of intercession and various prayer.
1 Timothy 2:1 (ESV) — “I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people…”
Hebrews 4:16 (ESV) — “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace…”
Ephesians 6:18 (ESV) — “…praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.”
·· We have the ministry of reconciliation
2 Corinthians 5:18–19 (ESV) — “All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation…”
• We are the blessings
1Pt 3:9; Romans 12:14; Genesis 12:2-3;
• We are the righteousness of GOD
2 Corinthians 5:21 — For our sake He made HIM to be sin
who knew no sin,
so that in him we might become
The Righteousness of God.
• We have ⚠️ righteousness: apart from the Law:
Coloss 2:14 — "by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross."
Eph 2:15 — by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace..
Gal 4:4-5 — ..when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.
Rom 3:21 — now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, (although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it)
Rom 3:28-29 — we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also

Integrity

.. with God and within us
you have upheld me because of my integrity,
and set me in your presence forever.
Psalm 41:12
Our Lord God restores and strengthens the conscience in us alongside the co-working ability in the Church. {Suneidesis and Synergy: self esteem & coworking with others} in Agape. We need each other for the various gifts in the church family:
In 1Cor 13. Paul argues: Real Agape unifies very different characters.
It's important to see that the OT. Cheshed* ≠ NT. Agape
* the Hebrew lng. is contextual: heched has been translated as "lovingkindness," "steadfast love," or "loyal love", depending on the context. Agape is different. It comes from our new status! The fruit of the Spirit is agape.. says Paul in Gal 5:22
{You can read the whole article here, plus there's something about filia and agape here. }

Heavenly Authority

This is the power of God's Kingdom over us. Within us. Under our authorized life & domains:
1st: Submission of the apostolic way of work (description of tasks) submerged in agape - in network: Pls. read 1Cor 13

2nd: Relay. Passing on the received teachings, models, goods to others.
Warning! The blessing doesn't fully work simply by receiving sg.:
ASK and it will be given Mt 7:7
GIVE and it will be given Luk 6:38
This means dependency, rooted in Gd's kingdom..
