Luke 7:6-7 In the town of Capernaum, a Roman centurion - a man of authority and discipline - faced a situation he could not control. Though he commanded soldiers and understood power, he could not save the life of a servant he deeply valued, who lay sick and near death. In his desperation, he turned to Jesus Christ, having heard of His power to heal. What makes this moment remarkable is not just the miracle that followed, but the posture of the centurion's heart. Instead of demanding help based on his position, he approached with humility. He did not even consider himself worthy to stand before Jesus. Rather than insisting that Jesus come to his home, he expressed a profound level of faith-believing that a single word from Jesus would be enough to bring healing. The centurion understood authority in a way that many did not. ...

Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and WALKED. (John 5/8-9 NKJV) The remains of the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:1-9) are in Jerusalem today, just north of the Temple Mount. Excavations have discovered that it had five porches, just as John described (John 5:2). This pool was surrounded by a multitude of hurting humanity. They waited for an angel to come down and stir up the waters – believing that the first person in the water after the stirring would be healed. We don’t know if the promise of healing was real or merely a hopeful legend; nevertheless, people believed it. Coming to a well outside Sychar, Jesus sent His disciples into the village to get some food. When the disciples left, Jesus had an amazing conversation with a Samaritan Jesus asked the lame man an unusual question: “Do you want to be made well?” (John 5:6) Jesus knew that not every sick person wants to be healed,...

... A nurse came to me in great physical need. Her faith had sunk to almost zero. Then I received a very short message. "Tell the child that I am still alive!" What else could I have added to that? What a pity that the Lord himself did not speak more often in this way. He certainly has something to say to us! But his goodness is so great that he sometimes descends (personally) to his children to convince them directly. Praise be to his holy name! Did you have any contact with priests? Sometimes priests came to me to ask for advice on personal matters; often the advice was to pray. One priest occasionally asked me to lay my hands on his wife, who was suffering from severe depression. When he saw me, he always said: "They lay their hands on the sick, and they are healed." May I ask how you felt about the church in this country? During my career as an officer {in the Salvation Army} I didn't have much time to attend church services....

Ever since I realized that I am nothing on my own and know nothing before God , and after I came before the Savior with this nothingness, namely, that He should be my life and my everything, I had every reason to be joyful. I could bring all my own and others' troubles before Him, Who did everything to help us. God's word and His wonderful promises brought me more and more joy every day, and I discovered more and more truths and promises that gave me reason to praise and thank Him. Emil Nigg

Being able to help people in such an extraordinary way has given you a certain satisfaction, I suppose. I was very, very happy to see that some people were cured. There was a time in my life when I rejected, both externally and internally, everything as "useless", such as spiritual gifts, etc. Such (testimony) writings will only impart profound blessings to us if we read them in a spirit of repentance and confess our own sloth and poverty. Then we cannot put them down without asking and pleading with all our hearts, Lord, fill me also with the Holy Spirit and fire! Who I am? Depression exists when we under­estimate ourselves. When we look at ourselves on the natural way & observe the visible things: we turn away from the Heaven. The writer of the Ecclesiastes {King Salomon} says: “Absolute futility,” says the Teacher. “Absolute futility. Everything is futile.” What does a man gain for all his efforts that he labors at under the sun? Ecc 1:2-3 Perspective The above-mentioned section shows a problem. The problem of the perspective: " under the sun ". King Salomon started his life with splendour and glory and finished with multiple wives and concubines - alongside their multiple gods/goddesses... Well... We're not meant to focus on things "under the sun". If we did, we missed the point. Let us only be illuminated from the side of heaven! A well-known parable of Jesus is found in Matthew 13. It is the story of the weed /darnel /tares found among the pure wheat. But do we understand the original message?
