Freed from their sins and healed by Jesus

Image
Being able to help people in such an extraordinary way has given you a certain satisfaction, I suppose. I was very, very happy to see that some people were cured. But I never forgot who the Helper was. Whenever a letter like that came to me about healing, I would kneel down with those words: 'Look, My Saviour, this is for You, the thanks are for You,... but I can rejoice in this too, can't I? Were you also a pastor of the sick? I suppose praying over the sick and caring for the sick go hand in hand. If I was called to see a patient, that was the first question before prayer: "Is everything okay between you and the Savior?" In many cases, confession followed, clearing the way for a prayer of faith. James did not write in vain: "...even if he has sinned, he will be forgiven" (James 5:14-17) ... I am thinking here of the story of the healing of the man with a stroke (Matthew 9:2), who was first freed from his sins and then heal...

Blood and Fire

Image
There was a time in my life when I rejected, both externally and internally, everything as "useless", such as spiritual gifts, etc. Such (testimony) writings will only impart profound blessings to us if we read them in a spirit of repentance and confess our own sloth and poverty. Then we cannot put them down without asking and pleading with all our hearts, Lord, fill me also with the Holy Spirit and fire! Yes, then it will be great and important, even holy, what is written on the banner of the Salvation Army: 'Blood and Fire'. We need the blood of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit if we do not want our lives to be poor, to be empty and fruitless. Without the blood of Jesus, there is no forgiveness, no healing (Isa.53:5) Without the Holy Spirit, there is no power, no empowerment (Acts.1:7-8) Emil Nigg

to stick with the promises

Image
Colonel, is it allowed to stick with these promises, to be so insistent on these? Isn't this blackmail? As far as I am concerned, the Word of God is the Word of God. I have no regard for myself or my faith, or my unbelief, or my doubts, Or the need of others, difficulties of others, only one thing is important: to persevere, with great earnestness and firm trust in God, standing on the promises of God, as it is written. How many times have I laid my hands on a promise: Isa. 53:5, or Luk.4:18-21, or Mark 16:18 with these words: Here it is written! Thank you for your healing by your wounds! This also applies to X, and I m not leaving from you. I just give thanks, thank You, simply thank You! One night, before falling asleep, I opened the Bible at Is. 53:5. I prayed and I said thank you for this promise, a promise with regard to a patient! "My Saviour, this is applies to her /valid, also for this poor woman!" With that I fell asleep....

Aferrarse a estas promesas

Image

Through the Dark Valley

Image
The Praise and Thanksgiving For the Blood of Jesus, the worship for His Holy Blood, these were the most powerful "medicine" of mine. Without this secret, I would not have gotten over my pain. I must also point out that it is not enough, if we just say thanks quickly, in just a few minutes. It has happened that I praised and thanked him for two or three hours in the night, praising and giving thanks to the power of Jesus' blood until the pain and anxiety had passed. It is also significant in other kinds of temptations. The enemy hates all praise and thanksgiving. Yes, because they actually drive him away. Psalm 50:23 is a reality: The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies Me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!” This was one of my favourite psalms. and I have often experienced its truth. Oh, if only Christians would use it more! The fate of many would be different.. Emil Nigg Nigg articles ...

Zizanion - Jézus precíz példázata

Image
Jézus egyik jól ismert példázata a Máté evangélium 13. részében található. Akkor honnan jöttek ezek a gyomok?

Depression or Glory

Image
Who I am? Depression exists when we underestimate ourselves. When we look at ourselves on the natural way & observe the visible things: we turn away from the Heaven. The writer of the Ecclesiastes {King Salomon} says: “Absolute futility,” says the Teacher. “Absolute futility. Everything is futile.” What does a man gain for all his efforts that he labors at under the sun? Ecc 1:2-3 Perspective The above-mentioned section shows a problem. The problem of the perspective: " under the sun ". King Salomon started his life with splendour and glory and finished with multiple wives and concubines - alongside their multiple gods/goddesses... Well... We're not meant to focus on things "under the sun". If we did, we missed the point. Let us only be illuminated from the side of heaven! When adoration & praise happen, alongside with the worship – Heaven happens. This was the original, Davidic heritage for Salomon! 2Chron 5 7 The ...

Zizanion - Jesus' precise parable

Image
A well-known parable of Jesus is found in Matthew 13. It is the story of the weed /darnel /tares found among the pure wheat. But do we understand the original message? Jesus put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to someone who sowed good seed in his field; but while everybody was asleep, an enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat,... So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared as well... the slaves of the householder came and said to him: ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where, then, did these weeds come from?’ ‘An enemy has done this.’ ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’ ‘No; for in gathering the weeds you would uproot the wheat along with them. Let both of them grow together until the harvest; and at harvest time I will tell the reapers: Collect the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn‘ Mt 13:24-30 Jesus' par...

Do not mingle!

Image
Arm yourselves! Recognizable influences, habits False or wrong models The following Scripture passages provide an opportunity for a meditation exercise without commentary. The subject is the Christianity: not an "all-inclusive religious philosophy" but knowledge of the apostles' teaching and life model. 1Peter 4:1 Since ...Christ suffered in the flesh, [for us, for you] arm yourselves also with the same intention (for whoever has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin), so as to live for the rest of your earthly life [rest of the time in the flesh] no longer by human desires but by the will of God. You have already spent enough time in doing what the Gentiles like to do, living in licentiousness, passions, drunkenness, revels, carousing, and lawless idolatry. They are surprised that you no longer join them in the same excesses of dissipation, and so they blaspheme. Ephesians 5:1 ..be imitators of God, as beloved children, and li...

How Cross-Cultural Friendships Are Life-Changing

Image
Gary Chapman and Clarence Shuler 5lovelanguages.com , clarenceshuler.com W ith the racial tension in Winston-Salem in 1968, there’s no way that I could ever imagine that I would become friends with a white man. I’m not sure Gary Chapman had that on his purview either. Gary and I met in a church gym. Russell, my best friend at the time had been invited by some white girls from his school to this youth function. He didn’t want to be the only black person at this event, so he asked me to go with him. Basketball was my god at that time, so I was all in. The only problem would be convincing my parents that I would be safe at a white function. A family “town hall” meeting was held to determine if I could go to a white church. Just as the decision was being made that I couldn’t go, I yelled, “Jesus will be with us!” Even though I wasn’t a Christian. My proclamation turned the tide because my parents had me in church all the time. In the sixties, it seemed that most blac...

In Jesus' name 2

Image
(From the testimonies of Emil Nigg's life.)    - "Colonel, I have the impression that your love for Jesus Christ was much deeper than ours." Was this the case at the beginning of your career?  - I have nothing to add to this. I may have needed the Savior more than others. At the beginning of my Salvation Army officer career, I had a foreman who became my role model. Even now, I see him, praying very seriously, leaning on his knees. His prayers and his love for Jesus had a great impact on me, the beginner. On our simple meals, a third chair was also set up, as a symbol, for Him Who We Worshiped: "Come, Lord Jesus, be our guest!" The flowers on the table were also in His honor.  -"Has your faith been so humble, so childlike, and perfect from the beginning?"  - No, because I also tried to achieve things on my own, even the closeness of God and His special blessing. A small example. As an officer student, I spent a night outside in the garden on an ...

In Jesus' name 1

Image
In Jesus' name  (from the testimonies of Emil Nigg's life) ...  "What did the doctors say about these amazing twists?" "I remember a woman who came to me in great pain." She had a big tumor in her breast and was waiting for help from Jesus, the Great Doctor. I prayed and placed my hands on Jesus’Name. The Lord's response was not missed. The pain was gone, the tumor was back. She waited until only a small lump appeared to testify to his doctor of the healing power of Jesus. As soon as she showed herself to the doctor, he could barely understand what had happened, that only a small lump was visible, and that his patient was in no pain. The woman told him that it was all done through prayer. The doctor's face shone and he acknowledged, that it was his great joy, that he had experienced such a thing that "a woman had found a cure through her prayer."  - Doctor, was it cancer? she asked. "Yes, it was, at an advanced stage." The...
