His preserving power

The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.. Psalm 121:8 New King James v. It's a beautiful phrase in the verse 8: "The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in" that's another way of saying: "in every event of life." And then, the last line: "from this time forth, and even forevermore" that's a way of saying: "at all time " will God do this. How we can thank and praise our God for His preserving power in our lifes! See the full Bible comment about Ps121 in David Guzik's website: Enduringword.com

born in sin - called to be free

You are right when You pass sentence; You are blameless when You judge. Indeed, I was guilty when I was born; I was sinful when my mother conceived me. Surely You desire integrity in the inner self, and You teach me wisdom deep within Ps 51:4-6 That is a little bit tricky for people to understand that we are already born in sin. As David says in one of the Psalms, “In sin my mother conceived me.” So that, to us, it may not appear fair that when the first people sinned, somehow sin was passed on and spread to all of humanity. But, in the end, the cross is not fair either. And so I think ultimately we sin because we’re sinners, and so we need to accept that we’re born … Just like we’re born into a certain family, certain parents, certain culture, race, gender, and so forth, we’re also born with this sinful nature. And so what the Bible says is that we need to be reconciled to God. So, when I was a college student, I like to think of myself as ...

What are the rod and staff in Psalm 23?

Image
by GotQuestions.org Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. ... Psalm 23 is a beautiful poem that uses the image of God as shepherd. David, who penned this psalm, had been a shepherd himself and understood the parallel between the task of a shepherd caring for his sheep and of God caring for His people. Sheep are totally dependent on the shepherd for food, water, leadership, and guidance as they move from place to place, just as we are dependent upon God for all that we need. Sheep depend on the shepherd for protection from a wide range of predators and dangers, just as we look to God as our Protector and Defender. I...

Praise the Lord all His armies

Image
Praise the Lord, all His angels of great strength, who do His Word, obedient to His command. Praise the Lord, all His armies,* His servants who do His will. Psalm 103:20-21 the LORD of hosts,* Him you shall honor as holy. Let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread. And He will become a sanctuary... Isa 8:12-14 *meditation: In 1Pt 3:15 we read: "in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord.." of Hosts! → Because Peter quotes Isaiah. It means that the apostles knew that Christ/ the Messiah is the Lord of hosts, the Lord of the Heavenly Armies. All honour and fear is due to His Name.

My steps in the safety

My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside. Job 23:11 My steps have held fast to your paths; my feet have not slipped. Ps. 17:5

Ps 141 - Prayer incense

Image
Let my prayer be counted as incense before You, and the lifting up of my hands as an evening sacrifice. Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not turn my heart to any evil, to busy myself with wicked deeds in company with those who work iniquity: do not let me eat of their delicacies Psalm 141:2-4

The voice of the Lord

Image
Psalm 29 Ascribe to Yahweh, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due His name; worship Yahweh in the splendor of His holiness. The voice of the Lord is above the waters. The God of glory thunders — the Lord, above vast waters, the voice of the Lord in power, the voice of the Lord in splendor. The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon. He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, and Sirion, like a young wild ox. The voice of the Lord flashes flames of fire. The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth and strips the woodlands bare. In His temple all cry, “Glory!” The Lord sat enthroned at the flood; the Lord sits enthroned, King forever. The Lord gives His people strength; the Lord blesses His people with peace.

Ps 62:11

Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work.
