Faithful High Priest

Image
Holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’s house... Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant.. Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.. .. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. Heb 3

The 3 weak segments of the protestant life

..and their restoration This article is part of the "Vitalize" pack Pre Protestantism have seen many changes, variations, (and ramifications) since Martin Luther. Even in the early days, Calvin himself modified (theologically developed) Luther's original prophetic vision. Meanwhile, the ever-ubiquitous Catholic culture continues to "keep pace with the world" and with its needs in various human activities. I think We, faithful folks are not to be like them... We can see many strong, portfolio building trend: "come as you are" we hear "and do not change for the purse sake!" is the reason why. The result? Growth-centered mindset and technique, aiming quantity at the expense of quality. We have seen this before and although we repeat the warnings, this is a thriving practice for the sake of the church budget. The Portfolians are on the threshold, brothers! New strength and vitality In the following note, I would like to highligh...

Praise, Pray, Proclaim

© jhopfan.org This article is a part of the "Vitalize" pack Isaiah 62:6 Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen on your walls; they will never be silent, day or night. There is no rest for you, who remind the Lord. Do not give Him rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem the praise of the earth. · Does this statement only apply to Jerusalem? · Has the revelation been fulfilled? · Definition of guard? We are to continually praise, glorify and worship God – because Jesus prays that God's Kingdom will come and His will be done here on earth, as it is in the Heaven . And in heaven, there is constant praise, worship and adoration. (I wrote a study about the reflection of the Heaven here. ) We're the royal priesthood in the New Testament. So the basic priestly ministries of prayer, fasting, thanksgiving, worship and representation are our responsibility. Although you see a different order on the jhopfan.or...

Ps 141 - Prayer incense

Image
Let my prayer be counted as incense before You, and the lifting up of my hands as an evening sacrifice. Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not turn my heart to any evil, to busy myself with wicked deeds in company with those who work iniquity: do not let me eat of their delicacies Psalm 141:2-4

God dwells in the praises of His people

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?.. Yet you are holy, enthroned {dwelling} on the praises of Israel. Psalm 22 And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him 1 John 2:28 Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us. 1 John 3:24 We are encouraged by John to abide in God, which has various meaning in the believer's life. In 1John chapter 2 and 3 we get dense apostolic visions how this relationship shapes our lives and makes ripples around us.. However, God is equally present in us and desires to live within our hearts' worship and adoration. Psalm 22, the great messianic-prophetic psalm, reveals this heavenly intimate relationship showing the out casted, Suffering Messiah who -In His Greatest sacrifice, in His death agony- gives us a glorious dimensions about Gd's dwelling...

Dozens of ways to praise

Image
Christian singer-guitarist László Prazsák (House of Prayer, Budapest) has collected the 12 ways of praise found in the Bible into a bunch.... What is certain is that after reading the list, we may realize how little we give to God while "praising Him" in our communities. ... in fact, it is strange that we need to talk about and teach the ways of displaying praise, since these ways are quite natural in secular praise. In many non-religious settings and situations, people freely praise their own "gods". At sporting events, secular concerts, and in worshipping false gods, people manifest almost the most natural ways of expressing their adoration. Piero Huerto Gago {unsplash.com} In the world, worship often does not need to be taught. It comes from the heart, but it is not directed at God at all... In the world we also give money for the benefit of our false idols, but our churches are barely supported. In our church communities we sing out...

He went in but didn't die

The King's worship... King David built his own tent for the Ark of the Covenant. And he survived that... King David, the great kingdom-unifier and psalmist, lived a truly extraordinary life. He had a close relationship with God from a young age and nothing changed once he came to power. Despite the fact that the Law clearly states where and how the Holy of Holies is to be built David built his own tent for the Ark. He had a want to serve and adore the Lord of Israel. The Law also states that only the high Priest and only once on a single day may enter the presence of the Lord. David was not bothered by this either. King David had so much desire to be with the Lord, so much need to live according to His mighty heart, that he built that tent for the personal worship, for adoration, praise and honor, and {we should not forget} for the representation of his worship before the nation. He di...
