Hope in Practice

This sermon, “Hope in Practice”, talks on the apostolic message, based on Romans 8:24-25, which in the ESV reads as follows:
“For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.”
In this sermon, Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones continues to exposit the theme of hope in the Bible. He characterizes Christian hope as an eager, joyful waiting. Dr Lloyd-Jones concludes with a powerful story from the autobiography of a saint from the last century, and rebukes the tendency of a believer's thinking to be all too earthly and fixated on this world.

Pre We have left 2020 behind us. Everyone has probably seen and heard fake and untrue news on TV, on the internet or from people they know in the immediate vicinity. The time has come when not only images but also video material can be created almost completely altering the original information or character. Different words than the original are put into people's mouths in the media, different gestures are made, small differences, big differences, not conveying quite the same original thinking.
