Titusz 2:3-5 ahol idősebb hölgyek mentorálnak fiatalokat

Image
by Andreas Köstenberger ...

Titus 2:3–5 on older women mentoring young women

Image
by Andreas Köstenberger ... Women’s Roles in Titus 2:3–5 In our day and age, few parts of Scripture are more controversial that the household codes of the New Testament. Indeed, as family structures continue to unravel and hierarchical relations, in the home, the church, or the workplace, are often abusive, the biblical teaching that men and woman have distinct, God-given roles and that women submit to their husbands has fallen on hard times. Yet, for those who are committed to Scripture, we must take a closer look to see what God says about male-female relationships, and women’s roles in particular, throughout Scripture. And one important place to do that is Titus 2. For more details, see chapter 6 in God’s Design for Man and Woman. Paul’s instructions to Titus in chapter 2 are given as part of a household code that conceives of the Church as God’s household . In keeping with this format, Paul gives ministry directives regarding older men (v. 2), older and...

Jó nekünk itt..

Image
Mt 17:4 EFO. Aztán a mennyei Atya rendbe hozta a dolgokat. Mt 17:5 (EFO) ...

.. it is good for us

Image
is it? .. many communities want to stay inside . What an experience! But it is the desire of the kids... This article is part of the "Vitalize" pack Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If You wish, I will put up three shelters —one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” Mt 17:4 Berean Standard Bible Jesus, in all his glory James, Peter and John were stunned by the amazing revelation when Jesus took his close disciples up the mountain. Jesus was revealed in all his glory. They were given a glimpse of heaven and the light of the kingdom without limits to come. No wonder Peter gave voice to his desire to stay and dwell there with the heavenly heroes and Jesus! Then the heavenly Father set things right. Because He had /has a plan which is not inert at all. And Jesus knows that plan: suddenly a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said:   This is My beloved Son.   I take delight in Him.   Liste...

Make every effort

Image
by todaydevotional.com Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy. Hebrews 12:14 For many years ReFrame's Russian-language ministry has been producing a talk show called The Dificult Questions . In this live radio broadcast we answer listeners' questions about the Bible and Christianity. But sometimes we hear from people who have a complaint rather than an inquiry. One caller recently shared that her family left the church because the congregation had many bitter divisions and fights. The woman said that these conflicts weakened her faith. In our Bible reading for today the author of Hebrews urges readers to "make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy." This is not an optional short-term activity but a necessity that requires our lifelong commitment. People who are at peace with God are responsible to pursue peace in their relationships with others. You see, when we seek peace with others, we somehow m...

El Olam: "the Everlasting God"

Image
by todaydevotional.com Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the LORD, the Eternal God. Genesis 21:33 Abimelek, a local ruler, wanted to make a treaty with Abraham because, as he said, “God is with you in everything you do.” Abimelek played it safe and became an ally of Abraham rather than an enemy. At first glance, this may seem a minor incident in Abraham’s life, but at Beersheba we see that Abraham calls on the LORD as El Olam, “the Everlasting God” or “Eternal God.” The Hebrew word olam means “for a long time, always, forever.” El Olam thus reveals God as “the Everlasting God,” without beginning or end. Why would Abraham use the name El Olam here? Note that before encountering Abimelek, Sarah had given birth to Isaac, the son God had promised. Abraham saw that God was faithful to his promises from many years earlier. As a reminder that “the Everlasting God” keeps his promises, Abraham planted a tamarisk tree, a...

He does not open with..

... I went for a short walk one afternoon. As I wanted to praise and pray on the way, I made my way towards the nearby forest and thought I'd take the narrow road to Interlaken. When I reached the fork in the road, I felt something strange. It was as if the trap had closed after a while. So I turned back and continued in the opposite direction, towards the village. After a few minutes, the road continued past a garden where an old woman was working. I had to call her. After a few words over the fence, the old woman asked me to come in. Inside, I was quite moved when she told me that she had asked the Lord in her morning prayer: Send me your delegate today! And He did! After discussion and prayer with her, I continued my journey with a joyful heart, thankful that I had heeded that gentle warning in the forest. When I first told this experience somewhere, I had to add: "The Savior does not open with a squeak, does not close with a clang!" It takes a subtl...

Nem úgy nyit...

Image

He delights in transformation

Image
God does not search for noble & impressive people. He takes us as we are & shows us grace & mercy. But he delights in transformation & plans to make us worthy of him. It's a joint project. He works it in & we work it out. Phil 2:12-13 Terry Virgo

Members Who Build Up the Church

Image
Chopo Mwanza Every local church is comprised of a diverse group of people who have been radically transformed by the power of God through the person and work of Jesus Christ. These diverse people have no reason to live and work together, let alone care for each other—and yet, they choose to live in love and unity together, to the praise and glory of the Lord’s name. Healthy local churches make a powerful and attractive testimony to a watching world. This means that every church member has to be devoted to building others up. Church members who build up the church are those who: 1. Attend Attending is the most basic way church members build each other up. It’s the most obvious way to show commitment to the body. There’s something encouraging about knowing a brother or sister is simply going to be present at a church service, and you are going to worship God together. The writer to the Hebrews tells the believers to “stir one another up to love and good deeds” an...

The voice of the Lord

Image
Psalm 29 Ascribe to Yahweh, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due His name; worship Yahweh in the splendor of His holiness. The voice of the Lord is above the waters. The God of glory thunders — the Lord, above vast waters, the voice of the Lord in power, the voice of the Lord in splendor. The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon. He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, and Sirion, like a young wild ox. The voice of the Lord flashes flames of fire. The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth and strips the woodlands bare. In His temple all cry, “Glory!” The Lord sat enthroned at the flood; the Lord sits enthroned, King forever. The Lord gives His people strength; the Lord blesses His people with peace.

Confidence in Prayers

Image
Confidence Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence in God; and whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him. (1John 3:21-22). Integrity If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be My disciples. (John 15:7-8) Jesus' works The one who believes in Me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father: Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. (John 14:12-14) Gd has initiated our work You did not choose Me, but I chose you. I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you. (John 15:16) He is Almighty He is able to do exceeding abundantly above al...
