The Melchizedek Order & Priesthood
.. oh, it sounds very mysteriously
In fact – this is an important part /background of the New Covenant: an often neglected apostolic identity
This article is part of the "Vitalize" pack
This theme is at the heart of the New Testament: Since we Christians are the royal, priestly family, {1 Peter 2:9} to serve as priests in faith we need to understand the true position of the royal high priest Jesus Christ. He has been praying for the Kingdom and glory of Gd on Earth as it is in heaven.
The following two short teachings give us a closer link to Jesus' highest rank.

I. The messianic high-priestly line
In the first teaching Lon Solomon explains why Jesus Christ is new, what his role is and what positive consequences this has for us.
Overview
In the detailed picture above, you can see that Melchizedek's blessing on Abraham's life (Gen 14:16-20) is infinite, Melchizedek's priesthood lasts forever. {Ps. 110:4} The Law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God. {Gal 3:16-17} The messianic high-priestly line has been connected to Melchizedek & his order, but has not been linked to the subsequent Law, hence does not affect the Levites' duty: Jesus is from the tribe of Judah {Ps. 78:67-68; Heb. 8:8-9; Rev. 5:5;} about which no order was made for the priestly ministry. {Heb. 7:14} So Jesus cannot be any kind of priest under /according to the Mosaic Law, but only through the line of Melchizedek. It is superior to the Levites. This was prophesied in Psalm 110 and taught in Heb 7 and 8.

...Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the Covenant He mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.

II. Comparing the priesthood of Levi and Melchizedek
The apostolic letter to the Hebrews compares the two priesthoods on several points.
Hebrew chapter 7 speaks of two orders of priests and priesthood: the Aaronic or Levitical Priesthood, and the Melchizedek Priesthood. The lower priesthood serves many useful functions, but it serves below the higher priesthood. Chart 12-5 details the points of comparison between these two priesthoods as articulated in the epistle to the Hebrews. With Jesus, the old was made new, the temporal became eternal, and the lower law was fulfilled with the higher law.

What do we see/understand in that case?
What do we see/understand in that case?
When we understand that the order of Melchizedek is superior to all religious orders then we understand our heritage and our position. Then we see that we have been given the freedom to take and deliver the gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations equally. Regardless of religious tendencies and their vintage years, regardless of country and its cultural background, we can focus on Jesus Christ as the faithful High Priest and communicate according to his will. We've been given a lifelong call to demonstrate his virtues ( 1 Peter 2:9) and this is continually supported in Heaven by the interceding, faithful High Priest. In Him all things and everyone are brought into unity according to the New Covenant:
There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
