In Jesus' name 2

Image
(From the testimonies of Emil Nigg's life.)    - "Colonel, I have the impression that your love for Jesus Christ was much deeper than ours." Was this the case at the beginning of your career?  - I have nothing to add to this. I may have needed the Savior more than others. At the beginning of my Salvation Army officer career, I had a foreman who became my role model. Even now, I see him, praying very seriously, leaning on his knees. His prayers and his love for Jesus had a great impact on me, the beginner. On our simple meals, a third chair was also set up, as a symbol, for Him Who We Worshiped: "Come, Lord Jesus, be our guest!" The flowers on the table were also in His honor.  -"Has your faith been so humble, so childlike, and perfect from the beginning?"  - No, because I also tried to achieve things on my own, even the closeness of God and His special blessing. A small example. As an officer student, I spent a night outside in the garden on an ...

In Jesus' name 1

In Jesus' name  (from the testimonies of Emil Nigg's life) ...  "What did the doctors say about these amazing twists?" "I remember a woman who came to me in great pain." She had a big tumor in her breast and was waiting for help from Jesus, the Great Doctor. I prayed and placed my hands on Jesus’Name. The Lord's response was not missed. The pain was gone, the tumor was back. She waited until only a small lump appeared to testify to his doctor of the healing power of Jesus. As soon as she showed herself to the doctor, he could barely understand what had happened, that only a small lump was visible, and that his patient was in no pain. The woman told him that it was all done through prayer. The doctor's face shone and he acknowledged, that it was his great joy, that he had experienced such a thing that "a woman had found a cure through her prayer."  - Doctor, was it cancer? she asked. "Yes, it was, at an advanced stage." The...

Reciprocity

Image
study in the Chapterhouse mutual faith and relationships in the Church The New Testament nurtures the talents helping everyone's personality and values. Unlike the religious, believers are immersed in the study of God's word & revelations. This is a spiritual work: a high degree of interdependence or reciprocity. Reciprocity is a real challenge, an uncharted territory nowadays. As Tim Maton ( Everyday Church, Wimbledon ) wisely commented: "There are 59 specific "one another" instructions in the Bible about how we're to relate to one another within the church community. The phrase "one another" is derived from the Greek word allelon [al-el-on] which means to " one another, each other; mutually, reciprocally ." As well as loving, caring, serving, building up, honouring, accepting, comforting, encouraging, and praying for one another, is the command to admonish one another (in Romans 15:14 KJV and Colossi...

The Birds of farmer Joseph

Image
Once a farmer lived in a valley of full bearings. His name was Joseph. He planted fabulous gardens amongst century old trees. His roses and flowery shrubs beckoned the groggy bees from miles. His fruit trees were full of cindrous peaches, flushing pears and honey coloured almonds. People from far countries admired the plants of farmer Joseph. But the neighbouring farmers didn’t envy farmer Joseph for his plants but for his birds. The sounds of twitter always could be heared in his orchard, light of the brilliant colourful feathers blinked from everywhere. The birds stormed from branch to branch. Many people wanted to find out the secret of the farmer. How can it be possible that these many rare birds stay at the farm when the other valleys meet only with ordinary orioles and nightingales? One day a distant friend came to farmer Joseph for a treat. Sure enough he wondered and asked a lot about the birds but the farmer just smiled and didn’t answer him. Nearly one week passed by the...

József gazda madarai

Image
Élt egyszer a dúsan termő völgyben egy nagygazda. Józsefnek hívták. Évszázados fák között mesés kerteket gondozott, rózsái, virágba borult cserjéi mérföldekről hívogatták a részeg méheket. Gyümölcsfái tele voltak hamvas barackkal, pirulós körtével, mézszínű mandulával. József gazda növényeinek messzeföldről csodájára jártak az emberek. A szomszéd birtokosok mégsem ezért irigyelték József gazdát, hanem a madaraiért.

For our sake He made HIM to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become The Righteousness of God. 2Cor 5:21 Covenant bearers Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever. 1 Chron.16:34 But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, descendant of Abraham, My friend — I brought you from the ends of the earth and called you from its farthest corners. I said to you: You are My servant; I have chosen you and not rejected you. Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand. Be sure that all who are enraged against you will be ashamed and disgraced; those who contend with you will become as nothing and will perish. You will look for those who contend with you, but you will not find them. Those who war against you will become absolutely nothing. For I, JHWH your God, hold your right hand and say to...
