The Firstborn's Rank
This brief study will introduce us to the cause-and-effect chain that the Failure /fault /sin caused on the earth. Sin - as the status - is the heritage of every human being. Now, we will examine the problem from the perspective of the men.
Questions :
Who is Adam? Who is Eve?
What is their rank, more specifically what is Adam's rank before the Fall?
What is the restoration task over the nation of God in the Old Testament?
Finally: What is the rank of the humankind now, in the New Testament?
Our next examples however shows the complete failure of the man. When a person is incapable of grasping his beautiful heritage from God Almighty.
...
In Eph 5:22-23 we read about the women's position :
In Eph 5:23–24 we read that the husband is the head of the wife. The wife’s submission to her husband is modeled on Christ’s position as head of the church and its Savior. “Head” here clearly refers to husband’s authority over his wife. See note on 1 Cor. 11:3.
But Eph 5:25-28 gives us a much more important picture
Here I immediately would like to emphasize the fact that Jesus Christ was the first {in person and time} who started the full restoration of the women in the human society. But this comes from his first born rank and we need more understanding of that.
In 1Cor 11:3 we read:
As with the authority of Christ over the church, however, this authority of the man is not self-centered exercise of power but is the kind of leadership that takes care {having responsibilities & interceding role as firstborn} to serve the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the wife (and family). See Mark 10:44–45; Eph. 5:23, 25–30.
Here, I would like to emphasize, men has much higher responsibility than women, spiritually saying: the sanctification has certain part in the man's relationship with his wife. The Heavenly cosmetics also has a surprising link here:
Paul tells the husband to give himself up for her. Husbands are to love their wives in a self-sacrificial manner, following the example of Christ with the church. This model is directly opposed to any kind of male tyranny or oppression.
{Notably, Paul gives three times more space to the subject of the husband’s duty (nine verses) than to the wife’s (three verses)}.
We Christians are to follow Christ's model as the living interceding priest model, men like the responsible leader model, and husbands as the living, Husband model showed by the Lord.
Living model, I say, because we are the follower of the living, incarnate Word {1Jn} namely Jesus Christ and the washing shower for our family, wife first.

when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husbandwho was with her, and he ate.

Note
We must be remembered. The basic task for the 1st pair of human was connected to the Blessing they received:
God blessed them. And God said to them,
“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Gen 1:28
We must be remembered. The basic task for the 1st pair of human was connected to the Blessing they received:
Gd's reaction
to Adam He said,
“Because you have listened tothe voice of your wife
and have eaten of the tree
of whichI commanded you,
‘You shall not eat of it,’
cursed is the ground because of you;
in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;
thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you;
and you shall eat the plants of the field.
By the sweat of your face
you shall eat bread,
till you return to the ground,
for out of it you were taken;
for you are dust.
Gen 3:17-19
Lord God said: lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—” therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.
He drove out the man.
Gen 3:22-24
The next example I bring up is quite saddening and could have brought disaster to those who were involved. But the man here was Abraham, who, along with his wife Sarah, was living in devastating circumstances since they had no children. Decades later as expected, Sarah had mixed emotions when she finally met the promised reality.
“Because you have listened to
and have eaten of the tree
of which
‘You shall not eat of it,’
cursed is the ground because of you;
in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;
thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you;
and you shall eat the plants of the field.
By the sweat of your face
you shall eat bread,
till you return to the ground,
for out of it you were taken;
for you are dust.
Gen 3:17-19
He drove out the man.
Gen 3:22-24
The LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did to Sarah as he had promised. And Sarah conceived and bore Abraham son in his old age at the time of which God had spoken to him. Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore him, Isaac. And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him. Abraham was hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. And Sarah said, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh over me.”
I admit I this test would be unbearable for many of us. However, we must see how different the firstborn's attitude was in moments of joy compared to that of his wife.
Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. And Esau said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stew, for I am exhausted!” (Therefore his name was called Edom.) Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright now.” Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is birthright to me?” Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.

The Firstborn's position /rank
In the next paragraph we can see how the Firstborn's uniqueness linked to the Redemptive plan. How the separation of the 1st......
When the LORD brings you into the land of the Canaanites, as he swore to you and your fathers, and shall give it to you, you shall set apart to the LORD all that first opens the womb. All the firstborn of your animals that are males shall be the LORD’s. Every firstborn of donkey you shall redeem with lamb, or if you will not redeem it you shall break its neck. Every firstborn of man among your sons you shall redeem.
And when in time to come your son asks you, ‘What does this mean?’ you shall say to him, ‘By strong hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, from the house of slavery. For when Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the LORD killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of animals. Therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all the males that first open the womb, but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.’
Exod 13:11
And the LORD said to Moses, “List all the firstborn males of the people of Israel, from month old and upward, taking the number of their names. And you shall take the Levites for me—I am the LORD—instead of all the firstborn among the people of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the cattle of the people of Israel.”
So Moses listed all the firstborn among the people of Israel, as the LORD commanded him. And all the firstborn males, according to the number of names, from month old and upward as listed were 22,273.
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the people of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle. The Levites shall be mine: I am the LORD. And as the redemption price for the 273 of the firstborn of the people of Israel, over and above the number of the male Levites, you shall take five shekels per head; you shall take them according to the shekel of the sanctuary (the shekel of twenty gerahs), and give the money to Aaron and his sons as the redemption price for those who are over.”
So Moses took the redemption money from those who were over and above those redeemed by the Levites.
Num 3:40-47
And when in time to come your son asks you, ‘What does this mean?’ you shall say to him, ‘By strong hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, from the house of slavery. Num 3:40-47
And you shall set the Levites before Aaron and his sons, and shall offer them as a wave offering to the LORD.
“Thus you shall separate the Levites from among the people of Israel, and the Levites shall be mine. And after that the Levites shall go in to serve at the tent of meeting, when you have cleansed them and offered them as wave offering. For they are wholly given to me from among the people of Israel. Instead of all who open the womb, the firstborn of all the people of Israel, I have taken them for myself. For all the firstborn among the people of Israel are mine, both of man and of beast. On the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I consecrated them for myself, and I have taken the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the people of Israel.

Inheritance and Rights of the Firstborn
In the Deuteronomy, during the tribal period we read:
“If man has two wives, the one loved and the other unloved, and both the loved and the unloved have borne him children, and if the firstborn son belongs to the unloved, then on the day when he assigns his possessions as an inheritance to his sons, he may not treat the son of the loved as the firstborn in preference to the son of the unloved, who is the firstborn, but he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the unloved, by giving him double portion of all that he has, for he is the firstfruits of his strength. The right of the firstborn is his.
Deut 21:15-17
I have found David, my servant;
with my holy oil I have anointed him,
so that my hand shall be established with him;
my arm also shall strengthen him.
The enemy shall not outwit him; the wicked shall not humble him.
I will crush his foes before him and strike down those who hate him.
My faithfulness and my steadfast love shall be with him,
and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
I will set his hand on the sea and his right hand on the rivers. He shall cry to me, ‘You are my Father,
my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’
And I will make him the firstborn,
the highest of the kings of the earth.
My steadfast love I will keep for him forever,

New Testament — Jesus First
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
Col 1:15

Heb 11:28
the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

ESV notes
The fact that God commanded the man implies that God gave the man leadership role, including the responsibility to guard and care for all of creation (Gen 2: 15). This leadership role is related to Adam’s relationship with Eve as his wife, who was given as “a helper fit for him” (Gen 2:18).
(On the NT understanding of the relationship between husband and wife, see Eph. 5:22–33.)
⇓ The fact that God commanded the man implies that God gave the man leadership role, including the responsibility to guard and care for all of creation (Gen 2: 15). This leadership role is related to Adam’s relationship with Eve as his wife, who was given as “a helper fit for him” (Gen 2:18).
(On the NT understanding of the relationship between husband and wife, see Eph. 5:22–33.)
In Eph 5:22-23 we read about the women's position :
"
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands."
Paul begins with the right ordering of the marriage relationship (see also Col. 3:18; 1 Pet. 3:1–7). The submission of wives is not like the obedience of children, nor does this text command all women to submit to all men (to your own husbands). Both genders are equally created in God’s image (Gen. 1:26–28) and heirs together of eternal life (Gal. 3:28–29). The submission described here is to the husband’s leadership, the firstborn's leadership for the health of the marriage relationship.
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
Eph 5:25-28
⇓ Eph 5:25-28
A famous theological gap
Scholars often refers to Eph 5:22 without the spiritual connection of 1 Cor 11:3. This causes enormous ripples among the congregations reflecting their cultural stance of human rights and the rights of the women in the modern society.Here I immediately would like to emphasize the fact that Jesus Christ was the first {in person and time} who started the full restoration of the women in the human society. But this comes from his first born rank and we need more understanding of that.
"I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, but every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same as if her head were shaven."
A woman’s head covering in first-century Roman society was sign of marriage. Paul’s practical concern is not with the relationship between women and men generally but with the relationship between husband and wife.
Some have argued that the Greek word used here for “head” means “source,” but in over 50 occurrences of this word in ancient sources, saying that “person is the head of person(s) B,” person has authority over person(s) in every case. Therefore it is best to understand “head” here as referring metaphorically to “authority” (see also Eph. 1:22; 5:23; Col. 2:10).
Here, I must repeat: the concern is not with the relationship between women and men generally but with the relationship between husband and wife. The Teaching comes from the deeper understanding of the both rank, responsibility and submission rooted in the Firstborn's rank and given stability and holy safety.
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
Eph 5:25
Listen to me, man of God! Eph 5:25
