Prophetic things

Intro

It is key that we, Christians live in the New Testament. We all have free access to the throne: free communication and close relationship in the heavenly family. God hardly speaks through one man alone {like in the Old Testament}, for the purpose of leading individuals and communities personally on the subject. That is why prophets who walk by faith must never go in an abusive direction or walk in well-meaning platitudes.
The prophetic work / subject /person is so badly treated through the "mainstream" in the Church that the majority has only an American movie-character in his/her mind. And sadly, Obi Van is stronger than that character in the minds.

But let us examine first:
• What is the prophet
• Who is the prophet
• What is the main difference between the Old Testament and New Testament prophecy

Old Testament example: Elisha and Elijah

God did not say to Elisha, ‘I think I'll send you to one of the schools of the prophets. Which would you prefer - Bethel, Jericho or Jordan?’ Clearly these groups did exist (2 Kings 2:3, 5, 7) and accurately prophesied that Elijah would be taken up into heaven. But God wanted Elisha to learn from personal involvement with his anointed servant. He was going to take Elijah’s cloak, Elijah’s place. He was not going to receive information alone; he was going to acquire something of Elijah’s spirit. As a symbol of what was to come, the cloak which Elijah wore was to be placed on Elisha’s shoulders. Paul wrote to the Corinthians, ‘I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church... He is carrying on the work of the Lord, just as I am. No one, then, should refuse to accept him’ (1 Corinthians 4:17; 16:10-11). Why should the church receive Timothy so readily? Because Paul’s ‘mantle’, his approval, rested on him. This young man had worked alongside the great apostle. He knew Paul’s ways and would faithfully represent him.

chapter: "Close companionship"
Take away the dross from the silver, and the smith has material for a vessel;

It is the glory of God to conceal things,
but the glory of kings is to search things out.
Prov 25:2

What is the prophet?

The prophet deals with the messages from the throne and the identity of the Kingdom of God.
He is therefore often in conflict with the religious man who is content to be saved and to live according to some "established morals".
And yes. On one hand: There is the justice of the Cross. Saving covenant by caring Gd. This is one of the main messages of the prophet.
On the other hand:.. then there is the Righteousness of the Throne, the work of the risen Ruler the king of kings. He has the greatest authority, wisdom and ruling power – from which the ID of the worshipper arises.
Since a prophet acts with authority - the religious cannot stand it.

Who is the prophet? {The prophetic character}

The word : "prophetic" in Hebrew is "naval" which means to "flare up" or "erupt" like a volcano. This of course also implies a certain human character. {also, this word has a certain pejorative meaning in Hebrew} I think, today this kind of character can only work in the formation of sects or closed micro communities. It is worth thinking: why?
Broadly – we are talking about heavenly revelations guidance and visions... through various personalities, characters.

Meanwhile, if we are talking about heavenly revelations guidance and visions in the New Covenant, "this place" is quite different. We won't "erupt" like the only channel and chance for the believers, because we have common intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit, we have common guidance through the written word and we have partial gifts to be revealed.

First. Our model is Jesus.
When Jesus was working - teaching and shaping his disciples - he had a sensitivity to hear the voice of the Father. This intimate relationship brought efficiency, tact and sensitivity into his human relationships, especially into his personal disciple - sphere.
I have many things to say and to judge about you, but the One who sent Me is true, and what I have heard from {before} Him — these things I tell..
Jn 8:26
